Croydon triple stabbing: One dead and one fighting for his life in hospital, as multiple arrests made
A 22-year-old man has died and a 21-year-old man is fighting for his life in hospital after a horror triple stabbing in Croydon. The incident unfolded in the early hours of Sunday morning on Hesterman Way, near the IKEA store.
Emergency services were swiftly dispatched to the scene, where they discovered three men with stab wounds. The London Ambulance Service took the 22-year-old victim to hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.
His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specialist officers. Two other men, both aged 21, were also rushed to hospital, with one sustaining life-threatening injuries. They have since been arrested on suspicion of affray.
The man with potential life-threatening injuries remains in hospital, while the other has been taken into police custody. Additionally, two women, aged 25 and 28, and a 28-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of murder on Sunday afternoon and remain in police custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Alex Gammampila expressed empathy for the victim's family, acknowledging the immense grief they must be enduring. He assured the public that his team is diligently working to unravel the sequence of events and apprehend those responsible.
Furthermore, two additional women, aged 21 and 22, were later arrested on suspicion of affray. The 21-year-old has been released on bail, while the 22-year-old remains in police custody. The crime scene remains active, and officers are diligently gathering evidence.
