An Unlikely Hero: The Tale of Ein, the Squirrel with a Unique Condition
In the heart of Boise, Idaho, a remarkable story unfolded, capturing the attention of a local resident and a dedicated squirrel rescuer. This squirrel, named Ein, was only about 6 months old, and his condition was unique. Unlike typical hydrocephalus cases, Ein's brain was fully enclosed within his skull, and there was a large calcification on the front of his head, resembling a bike helmet. Ein's journey began with a stay at Lombardi's house, where he joined three other special-needs squirrels. The treatment plan involves twice-daily steroids to reduce swelling and two other medications to manage fluids indefinitely.
