Street Fighter 6 is getting a fresh round of balance tweaks and new features tonight, marking the first substantial update in about three months. Capcom has confirmed that server maintenance will take place on December 15, with the patch applying balance changes and additional enhancements. Patch notes are already available for review.
Maintenance is set to begin at 8:00 PM Pacific Time (11:00 PM Eastern) and is expected to last until 12:00 AM Pacific (3:00 AM Eastern). While maintenance is active, online services will be unavailable, including matchmaking, the Battle Hub, the in-game store, and other online features.
The balance adjustments focus mainly on a few nerfs to Mai Shiranui and select buffs for Elena and Sagat. Outside of these changes, the update includes a handful of bug fixes and other minor improvements, rather than a sweeping overhaul.
In addition to balance changes, the update introduces new features. A Battle HUD Setting feature will let players customize the in-game battle UI with themes inspired by past Street Fighter titles. These themes will be available for purchase in the shop, though the Sim Sim HUD will be free for everyone to use at launch.
Another welcome addition is the introduction of Japanese VTuber Amaki Pururu as a free battle commentator.
Fans are also eagerly awaiting Outfit 4 drops for Street Fighter 6, as less than half of the roster currently has new outfits and no new releases have appeared in over three months. This update doesn’t change that timeline, but it does bring notable quality-of-life and cosmetic options to the table.
